Great book! Read it to my 6 and 10 year old. There's a lot of heavy stiff covered in the book, from starvation and death, to child abuse and child labor, to love and loss. If I had it to do over, I would have read it through before reading it to my girls so that I could be better prepped for the conversations we would have.

Newsies with a little bit of magic. Good for kids who like kids who are independent, who like mischief, can handle a little bit of danger.
