Of course I’m going to love a picture book with incredibly adorable creatures who seek freedom.

I loved the illustrations in this book. The ending fell flat for me but still a cute story.

Dreams, determination, friendship. What a combination. Not to mention, the Failed Projects' adorable cuteness. So much better than the 'Perfect Pets.'

This is a slightly dark tale but it's majorly redeeming quality is the illustrations which one can get completely lost in. We have been poring over the drawings at each re-reading and even though the kids sometimes look fearful at some part of the story, they are endlessly fascinating by the pictures.

This book has great artwork next to a supurb story. Although the story might be heavy for kids, I really loved it. This is a book has a great story about imperfectness and the importance of being yourself.

Barnabus is half-mouse, half-elephant. A Failed Project living in a lab with other Failed Projects, Barnabus listens to stories of the outside world from his friend Pip. When the Green Rubber Suits are planning to recycle the Failed Projects, Barnabus decides it’s time to try to escape.

Although adult readers will most likely understand that what The Barnabus Project is showing is genetic engineering, it’s presented in a cute story with cute illustrations that will allow children to explore the concept and its ethics.
