This is such a wonderful, beautifully written book. I did not read the synopsis before reading it, so I did not expect anything! I really loved the message this book conveys and I think a lot of people can identify themselves with parts of the story. I really enjoyed reading it and the ending was satisfying.

This was so readable, it was hard to put down. I do wish it had been a little longer.

Gayle Forman's words have a way of engaging me from the very beginning and taking me on a wonderful literary journey.

I am sorry but I cannot deal with this one. Had to dnf. Only read first 1-2 chapter and skipped and read some "harun's"(one of the 3 mc's) povs. A random white woman( of whatever faith but not islam) writing about a Muslim. And him being Gay! I am sorry but huh please stay out of religion and qouting Quran. Or whatever. A faith is a faith. And their rules are their own rules.

Plus this is not your #ownvoices story so huh. Just don't. No matter how much research you did its not your story to tell. It isn't. And it isn't even your place to write about a thing totally not belonging to your culture and your set of faith and your right and wrong .

Also stereotyping Pakistani American or Pakistan Immigrated people happening very hard in this one.

So YEAH BIG FAT PISSED OFF NOPE!

This was a good book about 3 strangers who find each other when they need it the most.

i did enjoy this book! i love found family tropes and platonic soulmates and the way this all happens during one day but they all care so deeply about each other!

Simple title, but each of the three characters we meet in this book has lost their way. It takes a very unlikely event to bring them together and force them to confront some of their personal demons.
Freya is a singer, who is about to become the next big thing, but she’s lost her voice. Harun is gay, but can’t come out to his family who are expecting him to go to Pakistan to find a wife. Nathaniel is the character we know least about, but he’s very lost.
The three meet when Freya falls from a bridge onto Nathaniel. So starts a chain of events that forces each of them to step aside from their issues for a while and to work towards helping another person find their way.
Very character driven and the story is a series of manipulations to get the characters to react in a certain way. That aside, it was a likeable read that had you rooting for them all, and hoping that ending was the start of something better.

Read #38 of 2018.

2.75/5 Stars.

I feel a lot of conflicting writing this review. For a book that is heavily about characters, I didn’t care about any of them for the vast majority of this book. I didn’t dislike them, but I didn’t necessarily like them either. The last quarter of the book changed that, even making me tear up a bit. Unfortunately, too little too late.

That being said, I would read a follow up novel just to see where these characters end up. I am especially interested in Harun’s family.

I listened on audiobook.

I was really looking forward to this book because I adore Gayle Formans other books but sadly this didnt hit the mark for me.
I enjoyed all the 3 individual stories but it just didnt gel with me and I found some part a bit ridiculous.

ALL THE FEELS!!!!! Gayle Forman is always on brand with her genuine characters, heartfelt writing and musical vibe. Also, I happen to be in NYC right now so I appreciated the setting very much.
