forced

I really liked the book up until the very end. What happened felt like the author trying too hard to throw in a curve ball and keep things interesting. It feels really forced and doesn’t leave me excited for the next book. I’m still going to keep reading them because overall I like the story line and the writing style. I guess we’ll see if the curveball was actually meant to enhance the story line or If it was just an attempt to keep the reader interested by introducing a new conflict.

I normally like Chase's books, but I cannot get into the middle part of this series. I tried to read this twice and put it down at about 75%.

I know many like this series, but this one was not for me.

Her whole personality is being meek and agreeable to the male characters and I can’t stand it. I’ve read another series from this author and that FMC was awesome. So I’m not sure if this is just earlier writing.

another enjoyable book in this series. i’m glad it’s split up into shorter trilogies that have their own plots alongside the bigger connecting plot because it doesn’t feel like anything’s being dragged out. i actually really like the scheming and fae politics in this too.

some of the plot twists, like the Harper one, were fairly obvious. even the Whitt one - although i was shocked and upset for him about how it all went down - had occurred to me at least a whole book ago because of how secretive he was and the feelings he held towards Sylas.

but you don’t understand, the way i gasped at that ending!!! that’s one heck of a plot twist and cliffhanger. what does it mean for our gal Talia and her loveable fae men?? it’s surely gonna go one of two ways - either this Unseelie guy is gonna be raised to public enemy number one and we’re gonna hate him or he’ll also be loveable and there will be an addition to the reverse harem situation. i can’t wait to see where Eva takes us with the next book!
