I was really excited to read this, and was happy to find it at a used book store for $1. Honestly, I'm happy I didn't pay more than that for it. I don't want to say anything too mean about it because this is this woman's life. I think my main problems with this book are 1. There is no introspection and 2. I didn't really care about her as a character.
The first thing: usually memoirs are about looking back and commenting on your life, trying to learn something or understand your emotions. This book doesn't do any of that. It really is just her naming off all of her sexual encounters-- and not even in an exciting way. It was merely "and then we did it." Over and over again. Which really cause the 2nd problem of me not caring about her as a character. Whether she is sleeping around or in a committed relationship, I had no emotional connection to this person, mainly because she did not explore her own emotions at all.
It was fine to read once, but I don't think I need to read it again.

I really enjoyed the story and I feel like some parts hit home for me or reminded me of people that I've known. The only thing that bothered me about the book is that it started to get a little preachy at the end. But, overall, an enjoyable story.

Nothing revolutionary or shocking, but a good solid personal experience story.

This book was about a girl who became addicted to sex and attention. It was interesting to see how she found herself in those situations and seeing it from her perspective. To be honest, I had never heard of sex addiction until the whole thing with Tiger Woods was on the news. I picked this book up for pretty cheap at the local used bookstore. It was worth what I paid for it, and I felt that it was a good book overall. I was not very pleased with the ending. I felt like she glossed over her whole recovery process, and I would have liked to hear more about it.

A quick and upsetting memoir about a teenage girl who tries to fill the void of feeling unloved by having sex with lots and lots of boys/men. It should be read by every parent and every teenage girl. Reading it in a group would lead to excellent conversations, a chance to strip away the labels, the finger pointing, and get down to real honest conversations about love, sexuality, and self esteem.
