Another fun romp through London with this cast of office workers and their complicated love lives. Comedy of errors and wardrobe malfunctions aplenty.
Good fun.

The sequel to [b: A Day at the Office|17373416|A Day at the Office|Matt Dunn|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1361028764s/17373416.jpg|24161118] that I didn't know existed!

This reads even more like Love, Actually than the first book, and I enjoyed it more than the first one. It's time for their Christmas party and hijinks ensue when their company Seek is being bought out by a big American company and this party is the first merger of the companies.

I adored Mark and Julie's story, Nathan's was interesting and once again Sophie made me cringe she really needs to prioritise something other than being in a relationship! Callum was better this time round, and his relationship was Mia was super cute.

This was everything that I wanted from a British Christmas novel. Though I wouldn't have minded a little more mayhem. I do love a nice, gentle novel that then ranges into mayhem. Anyway.
Everyone at Seek (a search engine company) is on tenterhooks. They've just been bought out by an American firm, iFeel, owned by an eccentric billionaire, Tony A. Wood, who has invited them all to a mystery Christmas party. No one knows what or where it is but it's pretty well spelled out that it's mandatory attendance. Probably so they can all find out that they've been fired.
The people from Seek include Juliet (about to be divorced) and her boss/bed partner Mark. She's just discovered that her divorce is about to go through which should delight Mark because they can finally bring their relationship out into the open. Too bad she also just discovered that she's pregnant. How are they going to deal with that.
Nathan is the firm's Technical Support Manager. He enjoys being a snazzy dresser and is fairly satisfied with his life. Other than still being a little hung up on his ex-girlfriend, Ellie. So why has she emailed him?
Sophie had a crush on Nathan, but he kindly and firmly rejected her. So she's been dating. Online and through apps. But it's been going horribly. Maybe she should just grab a chance with Tony A. Wood.
Calum is dating Mia. He's trying to figure out how to propose. He's worried not only about rejection, but about losing his job. Which is why the call from a headhunter is so enticing.
Just a wonderful peek at one day in the lives of many people with enough of a glimpse at each that you can get a sense of them and realize how it is that they've gotten here and where they're going.

More like 3.5 stars. A delightful read with likeable characters. I enjoyed the different points of view and situations.

I loved this one! I didn't know it at the time, but this is a sequel to A Day at the Office. This reads perfectly as a standalone novel (although I will be buying the first one on my kindle once I finish this review!)

This story made me laugh and had me wanting to know how everything turned out. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Julie and Mark reminded me so much of my relationship when I found out I was pregnant. Sophie is every single girl there ever was. Nathan cracks me up. And Calum and Mia are too adorable. My only hope is a third book will follow so we can see where everyone ends up!

I received this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Tonight is the office Christmas party but that is the last thing on everyone’s mind. Before the festivities begin there are love lives to sort and jobs to save.

Julie is feeling sick before the heavy drinking has even started.

Mark is in for a surprise and it’s not his Secret Santa gift.

Calum needs some dutch courage but a meal at Old Amsterdam ain’t it.

Nathan receives a Christmas greeting but hopes it is a mistake.

Sophie wants the new boss to unwrap her as his Christmas present.

With this much going on during the day will any employees actually make it to the night?!

This is the first book I have read with a Christmas office party and was looking forward to reading it, because I knew there would be plenty going on and I was not wrong. In fact there was so much drama before the party even began that I nearly forgot the main event had not happened yet. It was not until I was half way through that I spotted on Amazon that there was a book before this one. But reading it I did not think you would know at all that this was a second book which is great as you could read it as a standalone or if you really love this one you can go back to see how it all began.

An office is the perfect place for an interwoven story and with this book you feel like you are a fly on the wall privy to information each character does not want shared. Everyone was preoccupied with something or other and very little if any work was getting done. Rather than a buzz of excitement about Christmas everyone’s relationship and job worries threatened to cast a shadow over the whole proceedings.

My favourite character was Calum as I watched him bumble through the day desperate to change his life for the better in more ways than one. He was the one I really hoped Christmas would come good for and would love to hear more about him in any potential sequels. The only way this book lost marks for me was I thought Nathan’s story was one storyline too far and would rather have spent more time following the others instead. Also I was not keen on the new boss Tony A Wood - he was a very cliched American boss which I could see coming a mile away (quite literally in his blinding white dinner suit)

A Christmas Day at the Office blends drama and romance with a splash of real life for an enjoyable read which will make you instantly forget any past mistakes you may have made at office parties.

It's cheesy but I adore the characters so much that I wish we could follow them for at least another 10 books. A great Sunday book.
