This was such a fun read! It was hilarious, highly unrealistic and had an unexpected dose of gore.

The humor in this book is very dark and dry, but I couldn't help but be amused when some of the kills went a bit... differently than expected. I also kind of looked forward to the killing parts in this book, does this mean I'm a psycho too? Other than the killings there isn't much of a very interesting plot, but because of how ridiculous it was that Kitty got away with the murders and how she performed them I was entertained enough throughout this book anyway.

Besides Kitty there are a number of side characters, but nothing really to write to home about. They were all just kind of boring, as much as you'd expect from influencer friends. None of them had a real personality, but I guess that added to the dryness of this book.

I didn't see the plottwist coming at the end, though it also didn't make me gasp in surprise. It tied up the whole story nicely, and gave some closure...or not?

Definitely would recommend reading this if you're in for a unrealistic, funny yet dark book! It's not for the faint hearted, as some murders are quite explicit and sexual assault is mentioned quite a few times, so be warned if you don't like reading such things.

How do you make a book stand out from all the others? Make its cover orange and name it this, of course! One of the lovely ladies in my local Waterstones recommended this to me after we had been chatting about how incredible the SWEET PEA series is, and is there ANYTHING better than someone saying “this book made me think of you?!

Gripping, pacy, darkly comedic, and absolutely outrageous, this was SUCH A FUN READ 🙌🏼 that I absolutely flew through, and loved every second. Brent created FMC Kitty absolutely PERFECTLY. With her sarcastic, witty humour, and silent determination to rid the world of awful people, she was giving me major female Joe Goldberg vibes and I ADORED HER!🫶🏼 I mean… she’s a vegan influencer, that kills humans without a second thought (mostly).

I saw someone describe this as a mash up of SWEET PEA x MADE IN CHELSEA and this is the perfect summary. Its dark comedy crossed with psychological thriller, with a dash of romance. This may be a work of fiction, but it highlights the very real issues women face daily and the all too common “you owe me because I bought you a drink”. Several difficult topics are covered throughout this, including rape, ED’s, and suicide, and the second half of the plot takes a decidedly darker turn as Kitty (and her mental health) spirals.

Very almost on par with SWEET PEA’s Rhiannon; I absolutely cannot believe this was Brent’s DEBUT NOVEL👏🏼 and I’d highly recommend reading it. (And if you’ve read this, definitely check out CJ Skuse’s work!)
