I definitely didn't like it as much as The Hunger Games, and I still have real problems with time compression - some things drag on, some things happen too fast. I didn't feel connected to any of the characters, and to be honest, I didn't like Katniss very much. Peeta, on the other hand, is a different story entirely. If there is one character in this trilogy that I've grown to love, it's Peeta. He's really the catalyst for everything Katniss does, and it's all so innocent (seemingly - maybe there's a twist coming up?) He doesn't seem to have any idea that his comments are planting ideas in Katniss's mind. If anyone is responsible for a rebellion, it's really Peeta.

Way better than the first. A lot more character development, plot twists, and complexity in character interactions.

It takes a lot to continue the awesomeness from the first book in this series, but I believe Catching Fire delievered. I've read these stories before and I still found myself surprised by certain events or getting upset for the characters.
