Not Paula Hawkins best work-the time-line was a little confusing.

Interesting and amusing murder mystery set on Regent’s Canal in London. Competent and interesting but not nearly as gripping as ‘The Girl on the Train’.

I didn't really like this. I listened on Audio and it was very difficult to follow all of the characters and their individual back stories. I also sort of predicted the end from the outset. There was some suspense, but nothing like The Girl on the Train or Into the Water.

This book kept me wondering who was involved and what all they did!

I enjoyed reading Laura's POV and felt bad for a lot that she was put through during this novel.

The story was good, relatively compelling and suspenseful if not a little predictable. What sold this for me was Rosamund Pike's narration. Holy crap, that woman deserves an award for this book - her characterization was phenomenal and brought this average murder mystery onto a whole other level.

The story follows several characters,  none of which is a reliable narrator. No character development. One of the characters is a crime fiction novelist who is criticized for jumping around from character to character,  and for going back and forth in the timeline. It seems the author is trying to preempt criticism on this front, and it smacks of self-aggrandizement. I didn't really care about any of the characters, and the victim had it coming.

I probably wouldn't read another book by this author.

Demasiado enredada, trata de repetir la historia desde diferentes personajes, pero no logra darle la intensidad a cada uno.
