I chose to give this book a four-star rating because you can understand the character in more ways than one and about how she came to a realization after so much denial.
I love how the story can have so many problems and at the same time be so beautiful.
Ahren was one of my favorite characters and I was just as heartbroken as Eadlyn when he went off to France with his beloved Camille.
I think the last couple pages regarding love will make the next book worth a wait, though it will be a pain since I just finished this book and I'm pretty sure that the next book won't probably come out until maybe next year or the year after that or the year after that. But nonetheless, I'll wait.
I want to see Eadlyn become more aware of her feelings and hopefully end up like her mother who had such a blissful ending in the previous book...

I wish the author, Ms. Kiera Cass, had separated the two different stories between the mother and daughter because I believe they are deserving of their own series like what one author did with Vampire Academy and the other series completely. Although the characters were all connected to each other, they should have their own series for the sake of having series. I don't think it was right to do so in the first place, since the two selections are remotely different and minutely similar.
Princess Eadlyn obviously had a much harder time because all her suitors remaining all seem fit for prince consort. Even I can't pick! I have it so bad now that I really want to read the next book. I'm weird, don't mind me!

Well America and Maxon had made an amazing family. They are still the beautiful couple from the previous books, but this story center only in Eadlyn the first born and the heir. She was so spoiled and selfish!! God! Sometimes I was frustrated with her!

Ahren, Kaden and Osten are amazing and cute! I think Kaden will be an and amazing king instead of Eadlyn.

I'm worry. I CAN'T HANDLE THAT MAXON AND AMERICA CAN DIE. I haven't pass for 3 books and see them suffer and fight for their love to just kill one of them 20 years later! NO. Screw Eadlyn! I want more Maxon and America.

If something happen to America and Maxon I'll hate Kiera Cass for the rest of my life.

Ps: The One of still the best book of the series. The Heir is not even close to it.

My unpopular opinion of the day: I didn't find Eadlyn odious at all.
(And I like this series. Maybe has something to do with my Bachelor(ette) obsession.)

I realize that many people who read this book could not stand Eadlyn, so I came into it prepared to feel the same. However, I found Eadlyn an (obnoxious) breath of fresh air. Would I want to be friends with her? Or her parents? No, but that's not why I read books. Eadlyn is pretty much exactly who I would expect her to be: an 18 year old princess who has grown up in the lap up luxury.

Most YA heroines are inherently good and nice and kind and

Eadlyn is a brat. She's not an evil person, but neither is she quintessentially good. I'm a little confused as to why people find this so offensive. She's realistic. She's at least different.

But for all that, still a three star book for me.

It's fun! I enjoyed meeting the boys, but I find Eadlyn is written strangely, she's unwilling to change, and when she does it feels abrupt and out of nowhere

It was pretty good, but it has some things that annoyed me. There was really no point in writing a fourth book.
