Omg! I love this world. The Savage universe is a must-read. We are getting Helen baby sister Luciano, who we saw in Soft like thunder and Julien's brother Beckett who we saw in Real Like Daydreams. Beckett and Luc story was amazing. He was the perfect person for her. This book was hard to put down. I hope we get more in the Savage universe.

Lovely, with just the right amount of steam and angst. I love YA and this story is the perfect example of why. Teenagers with crappy families, in an exclusive school where there are cliques, rivalry and girls vying for the athletes. Fun times!

Luciana is just starting her senior year at the exclusive Savage Academy, with a scholarship for field hockey. She’s stoked, ready to play hard and get a scholarship to a D1 University. She has her besties with her, Delilah, Bella, and Eve. She’s friendly and nice, and everyone likes her, except for Beckett Savage. They met when they were thirteen, Beckett’s brother is friends with Luciana’s brother in law. Their first meeting didn’t go well because although Luciana was friendly, Beckett was grumpy and mostly silent. The few times he talked he was rude, so Luciana wrote him off as a no friend.

Now both are in SA in their senior year, both staying at the athletes dorm, and it’s funny how he looks at her. Intense and silent is his mode and it’s a little unsettling. Then he starts being nice to her, he’s there when her car mysteriously has a flat tire, so he gives her a ride to visit her family who live near his family. All this contact makes Luciana look at Beckett in a different way.

The story progresses in a predictable manner but it’s their personalities who make the story unique and entertaining. Luciana is happy go lucky, nice and friendly with everyone. Beckett is the quiet and intense type, and pretty soon he turns possessive and jealous. He’s also super sweet and protective. But, as always happens with these teenagers, issues come out and they need the maturity that their families provide. In their case, Luciana’s sister and Beckett’s brother because their parents are crappy parents.

I loved the characters, their friends and their siblings. Although Luciana and Beckett had their issues, they’re teenagers, they haven’t matured completely, so it was expected. I loved that once together, they were devoted and driven to succeed as a couple. Lovely family drama! Now I need to go find the other related stories!

Another book I love by Julia Wolf! I think this was a great start to a new series. I’ve been interested in Beckett and Luciana since we met them in her other books, and I was really excited to be able to read about them. Getting to see their first meeting from each POV was great. Go read this book!

This academy romance begins with enemies to lovers and quickly moves into opposites attract ya romance; however, as it progresses, it becomes more NA. Luciana and Beckett are a wonderful couple, but the sweet male character isn't what I was expecting. I love that he was soft to her, but I expected a little longer before the relationship and romance began. Luciana may be broken by her past, but she is a formidable female character. I love the inclusion of different sports; the book follows them through more than just high school. Overall, this was a great read.

The story begins with her in middle school and quickly introduces Luciana. More back history on her would be excellent, but I picked enough to know she is strong, intelligent, and sassy. Beckett seems to be her nemesis, as they have had a few encounters but don't get along. Luciana's friendship with her teammates and roommates at Savage Academy is endearing.

Beckett goes to Savage Academy as well and is just down the hall. He and his buddies are interesting. I need to find out if they rule the school or are just the pompous boys. He is very focused on Luciana. I'm still determining what sport he is in, but she plays field hockey. Oh, apparently, Beckett plays soccer.

This may be enemies to lovers, but Beckett is acting like anything but that. I can see where history leads in that direction, but his hard outer shell turns off when Luciana is important to him. As for her, I don't blame her at all for being confused. This poor boy is a whiplash waiting to happen.

This story gets steamy as their relationship develops more in NA territory than YA. I love the ups and downs of the relationship as they both discover they are broken people but strive to be way more than they are now.
The story takes on a more lovers' side most of the way through the book, and the enemy's part disappears. However, despite their opposites and sports, they complete each other. Beckett and Luciana are a lovely couple moving through the end of high school onto adulthood and into new roles as they age and grow up.

I enjoyed this book's epilogues even though the male main character got sappy quickly. I wish he maintained his hardened exterior a little longer. But Luciana brought him to his knees and turned this stubborn man around. I love the playlist at the end of the book.
