I liked this book! It wasn't the most thrilling, but it was suspenseful, eerie, and cool. I didn't see the twist coming. The characters were likeable if kind of flat. Overall, it was a good time.

I LOVED this book! Thriller about an apartment sitter in a fancy NYC building and where stuff starts to happen. I did guess the bad person from pretty early on but I could've NEVER guessed how, why or where it ended up. The whole book is over 3 days I believe and so much happens and had me hooked the whole time. Very fast read.

Another excellent story by Riley Sager! I love how different each of his stories have been! This one felt very grown up and classic mystery/thriller/chiller vibe. I won't say any more about the plot because of the summary above and there is a lot that you should read in the book but this book gives such a strong growing sense of dread chapter by chapter, you feel like you're going right along side the main character. The ending was so different from what I was expecting/dreading but still had the desired impact. What an excellent story! I would definitely recommend!

I’ve read all of Riley Sager’s book and...THIS IS EASILY MY FAVOURITE!
What an AWESOME story! I sort of guessed the “who” but absolutely NOT the “what” or “why”. Holy crap how does someone come up with this stuff??
This had me on the edge of my seat for the better part of a day and a half. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an original thriller with a fantastic plot. So good! Easily a 5 star rating.

Another Predictable Story-line with an Incredible Finish
One-Sentence-Summary: A young woman gets a too-good-to-be-true job opportunity when she is paid to apartment sit at an historically creepy housing complex.
5 Star Score: 2/5
10 Star Score: 4/10
I struggle with giving this a two or three star rating, and I imagine I'll come back to it and re-rate it when I've given it some more thought. For starters, this is better than Sager's debut and most famous book "Final Girls." That book suffered from some weird subplots and awful characters. This time the protagonist is more fleshed out and the supporting characters are more memorable, though flat as usual. As with most thrillers, the first 75% or so is your typical rise of action and red herring after red herring. I knew the bad guy was a bad dude fairly early on, as their contrast with the rest of the cast was almost obvious, if abrasive. However, I will say the ending was well done. Some thrillers will squander the last act and hope all you care about is the twist. While the twist here is more obvious, the final act is an engaging read.
Genre: Suspense, lite horror
Format: Kindle Version & Audible Audiobook

I am not sure I have ever read a book with a more frustrating main character in my life. I think Jules is supposed to be some sort of brave detective like girl but truly she is just an absolute idiot.
