WOW.

What a book. What a triumph! I loved every bit of it. It felt so raw, real. Even the parts I couldn't relate to, it felt like I was reading a real teen tale. What I mean by 'real teen tale', is that, the characters acted like teens and nothing seemed outlandish.

Every day I keep seeing comments about this book - police getting scared about kids reading it, protesting about children reading it in schools. Speaking as a white girl, I see nothing wrong with this book. This book handled the issues and problems today in the best form possible for young adults and those curious.

I am very, very excited for the movie. I have a feeling that it's going to wreck me when I watch it in the theater, but I expect to be wrecked.

Again, this is a book that should be recommended reading and should be embraced but not feared. But if it should be feared it should be feared for the truth.

I believe everyone should read this book. Young, old, black, white, rich, poor. I believe everyone can learn something from The Hate U Give. Angie Thomas did a great job of making us see the world through Starr's eyes, and learn about how racism is affecting everything, everywhere.

This book was so eye-opening and moving. I was fully engaged in this story the whole way through, and took so many meanings and messages away from it. Such an incredible novel.
