My other favorite cookbook, along with Jane Brody's "Good Food Book." Easy and practical, with recipes just different enough to be interesting to me without being *too* interesting.

So far, every recipe we've tried from this cookbook has been great enough to add to our Family Favorites collection.

Caribbean Yellow Rice & Peas - very good.

Dilly Beans - excellent.

Carrot & Parsley Salad - delicious.

This was published over 20 years ago, and is another great cookbook from Moosewood Restaurant.

Although my favorite is the recent [b:Moosewood Restaurant Favorites: The 250 Most-Requested, Naturally Delicious Recipes from One of America's Best-Loved Restaurants|17167085|Moosewood Restaurant Favorites The 250 Most-Requested, Naturally Delicious Recipes from One of America's Best-Loved Restaurants|Moosewood Collective|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1362226082s/17167085.jpg|23594241], this book has a lot of great recipes. Even though it was published so long ago, when they were just about the only major player in the vegetarian game, it is worth checking out, especially if you enjoyed the other Moosewood Restaurant Cookbooks.

This book needed pictures. The recipes can be made under 20 minutes or less, usually with recipes I have to add an extra half hour. The Tomato Lime soup takes 10 minutes to make, and is a favourite for the family.

I've had this on my shelf for two years and it took lockdown to get me to crack it open.

Favorites:

Greek Pasta Salad
Cajun Skillet Beans with Cheese Grits
Lemon Date Bars
Coffee Ricotta Mousse

I've already made these several times and they will be in my regular rotation for years to come. Delicious, quick, and vegetarian. There are no photos, but they are not missed. The ingredients are common and generally inexpensive. There are no advanced techniques and every recipe should be well within the capabilities of a home cook.

The recipes are indeed quicker and easier versions of Moosewood classic favorites. As someone who learned to cook vegetarian through the other Moosewood cookbooks, I missed the hand-drawn style and the extra information and details. For what it intends to be, this is a great resource.

This is my favorite cookbook of all time bar none. Recipes taste great and take the time indicated in the book. Working my way through all the recipes in the book cover to cover over the next couple years.
