I thought the first book was intense but as these secrets start coming out they are getting even more intense and mind-boggling. the author should be commended on her ability to create this dark and bewitching world that she created. There is nothing sugary and sweet in this story. It is dark and violent.

I liked that Ellen is finding her way in this story and making Micha open up. There is still a lot to unpack where he is concerned. Also, in regard to Ellen too. I will say that this author knows how to leave off on a cliffhanger. I am glad I read this as a boxset knowing the last book is already included.

This author and her wicked mind is slowly turning into one of my favorites because I adore how she can get me so invested in the dark underbelly of monsters. I cannot wait for the next book.

As this series continues, my love for dark romance comes out. There are times that this kind of story just intrigues me, not because of the violent behavior, but because of how people react to different circumstances. This book does just that and I am completely immersed in Ellen and Mischa's story.
It picks up right where we left off in book 1, and the abuse Ellen takes from Mischa continues. Though not loyal to her husband, she refuses to give any information to Mischa. She is a strong woman, and that is one of the things that I find fascinating. We also see a turn in Mischa. With the start of this abusive relationship, all I could do was dislike the man. But now there are hints of light and I am curious to see how Ellen's presence changes him. The cliffhanger s surprising and leaving me to want the next book! Things are about to change, secrets revealed and all the questions I want answered will hopefully come out.

Caitlyn Allgood Knight is nailing the narration. Each character, each accent, each scene is filled with either horror or emotional pulls that kept me on the edge. She is fantastic and can't wait to see what she has coming up.

OMG Lana! That ending was EPIC!
I thought that was going to happen earlier in this book but decided it wouldn't. What a shocker!
Ellen is such a different character. Sometimes I want to shake her and tell her to smarten up and other times I want to hold her and hug her.
Whereas Mischa, sometimes I want to slap him and the other times I want to smack him. I wish he would give her what they both want.
But that ending, I am still sitting here saying WOW!

Ok I'm pretty sure this review is going to be all over the place. Please bear with me as I'm trying to put all of my jumbled thoughts in it. I read this book in one sitting. The plot and storyline pull you in, and have you sitting on the edge of your seat just begging for a morsel.
If you thought the first book left you wanting hold on to your kindle, because you are in for a treat with this book. I just need to know. How much can one person take? The mind games and the whole I hate you, but I want you is enough to make your head spin.
Ellen is out through the ringer again... Mischa is as bull headed and guarded as he was in the first book. We do get a little more information on both of them. I just have so many questions that I need answered. The author definitely knows how to build up the story to keep you captivated. Now I just have to wait another month to get the last book. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because with as explosive as these first two books are I'm pretty sure the third one is going to blow everything out of the water.

This book... Goodness. VII is much more intense if I'd say so myself. Mischa and Ellen's connection is fiery, vicious, and borders on insanity. Because I'm telling you, Mischa is whole different kind of man. I've finished this book barely breathing at all.

The story started from that epic ending from book 1. Ellen seems to be free now from Winthorp's clutches', but could she say the same in Mischa's arms? Was he the lesser evil?

Mischa, oh Mischa. I couldn't count the time that I've wanted to throttle, kick and scream at his callous ways, but then he will show you his vulnerable side and I'm like, I want to love and save him from his demons. Through of all of these, Ellen is getting to know what she is as a person through his "guidance", by opening her eyes to the world that both men in her life lives, breathes and dies for.

Overall, what a crazy ride and with that ending again, I want to read the next book now!

description CHRIST ON A CRACKER...Two books down, one to go. And this book was just as fantastic as book one. The writing is phenomenal. It is well paced. The plot continues to be crazy engaging with twists and turns galore. Mischa was slightly more palatable in this book. SLIGHTLY (lol) The guy acts like a serious child sometimes, but the character showed growth and that is what you want to happen in any multi book series. The same goes for Ellen. I wasn't sure which way her character was headed after the end of book one. In this book she is a strange mix of weak, yet strong at the same time. I can't wait to see what will happen to these two in the next book. As with the first book there was no OW or OM drama. Last, it all ends on yet another cliffhanger. I will admit I saw it coming, but I am certain with that bomb dropped all hell will break loose in book three. And this reader will be along for the ride.

I really don't know how to rate this book. Some parts of this story were engrossing and beautifully written. And other parts were repetitive and tedious.
