I listened to the audiobook and I must say the 2 narrators were spot on. I think they added to the story. I've read a couple of books co-authored by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and I've enjoyed them all.

Jessica is a hard working girl barely scraping by in NYC. When the chance to earn some extra money by being in a study comes along, the easy cash sounds too good to be true. Enter Dr. Shields and her diabolical methods. You know what they said, "if it seems to good to be true, then it is". Some of the story was a tad predictable however, I did not know how it would ultimately end.

It was so miserably slow at the beginning it almost made me DNF and I love a slow burn. Twist was pretty decent but resolution was just meh. Whole experience was meh.

Spoiler Dr. Shields tries to find the right girl to test her husband's fidelity (after he cheated before with a client). Once they both turn on Dr. Shields (she ends herself after she got his previous affair to - to protect his career as a psychologist) the 'anonymous girl' decides to blackmail him for money. Jessica (anonymous girl) found out she was a client because of a quote on a coffee mug in his office so not only is he a cheater, he's unethical... so him and Shields were really perfect for each other!

Less twisty than The Wife Between Us, and I liked it for that. A quick, fun, easy read.

This was a true psychological thriller that kept me hooked the entire book. I'm giving it 5 stars to emphasize what fun read it is. A woman somehow finds herself in a psychiatrist’s study because she needs the money. The study isn’t exactly what she thought it would be and she winds up out of her comfort zone but also in danger. She doesn’t know who she can trust anymore. I loved this story because I was unsure which character to trust! The characters are all developed and the author leaves just enough mystery that keeps you turning the pages to find out more about who really is telling the truth. I loved the twists and turns, my favorite books are ones like this one where you try but still can't predict the ending. A solid choice for any psychological thriller fan!

I spent almost a week or so reading this book; it took me longer than expected. The reason is that it's very slow paced and not really in a thrilling or exciting way. I pushed myself through it and kinda expected the end. I was really disappointed because the twists aren't really that good or unexpected. Worst book of this year so far.
