Superman Vol. 2's superfamily wholesomeness was fun to see. The highlight of this volume was probably the one-shot Our Town that saw the Kents go to the Hamilton Country Fair. The small-town coziness and low-stakes Superman hijinks were an absolute delight. Another highlight of this volume was Jon and Clark's father-son bonding. I get a kick out of seeing Clark mentor Jon and a few moments between the two in this volume tugged on the heartstrings.

This comic also saw the first meeting of the iconic duo of Damian Wayne and Jon Kent. I initially picked up this Superman run as a precursor to the Super Sons comic series and their first meeting was as entertaining as expected. Damian was a tad acerbic for my liking, but his and Jon's dynamic was fun overall and I'm sure he'll grow on me with time. The wacky shenanigans and Alfred's cutting dry humour made Jon's adventure with the Bat-family a fun time.

I will say the final two issues in the volume didn't hold my interest as much. This could be because Jon was notably absent so the family-centric wholesomeness I love in the series wasn't there. That's not to say the issues were bad, there were a few interesting characters, but it didn't hold a candle to the previous installments.

Regardless Superman Vol. 2 was a fun read and I loved getting wrapped up in more of Clark and his family's adventures.

A great way to end the 2017 reading challenge, this delivers on the promise of the first Tomasi Superman collection in a really satisfying way, with Big Blue and Son being played off Batman and Damian (of course), their idyllic small town, and one more that I don't want to say because his appearance was a total surprise and delight. Really looking forward to the Multiplicity stuff.

Now this particular volume was SO MUCH FUN! I can always get on board with a little Superman/Batman dynamic, and apparently the same is true of their sons. Thoroughly enjoyed the issues that featured Jon and Damian!

This attempted to be fun and cutesy but turned out to be rather super annoying instead. Let's hope they don't do this again.

I'm not completely happy that I have to read various other DC-character's stories just to keep up with the Super Sons. So yeah, Batman and Superman are still the biggest bores in superherodom, but I can kind of endure if the sons are involved somehow.
