You know when you come across a book that feels like its own, unnamed genre? That is Piranesi. It’s thrilling, dreamlike, and completely enchanting. I loved it!

I keep getting referrals, but several times I've tried, I've stopped. This time I tried a little harder, but it still didn't give me anything new. From the various reviews I've read here, I feel the same as many who gave it one star. I won't give it any stars because I haven't finished it. But I'm writing these words to remind myself not to come back here.

If you want to find out more, I highly recommend Yun's review, which I identify with: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4457118051

Took a while to get into but eventually gave me something concrete to follow.  Didn’t answer any of my questions, but I think I get why.  Challenging - pushes readers beyond their normal comfort zones.

Проникливо і глибоко. Примітки Михайла Назаренка наприкінці книжки заохочують перечитати знову і знову.

Gentle and moving with a dark undertone. At the start it could have been anything, I was favouring a strange metaphor on memory and mental illness but resolved into a more straightforward portal fantasy of sorts. Beautiful and lyrical with a slow burn intrigue and a resolution that feels right.
Highly recommended if you like your fantasy to be a little different.
