(EN) Second chapter will make the differences between the girls go deeper and also will put them in hard situations. Their decision at times look very crazy but I can definitely translate them into real life.

Rufele murdare. Ușa toaletei care nu se închidea bine. Îmi imaginez că San Giovanni i s-a părut o prăpastie la marginile cartierului.

I usually don’t enjoy sequels as much but this one I loved as much as the first or maybe even more. You know it’s a good book when you’re thinking about the character in your day-to-day life and even after you finish the book. At points I really felt the emotions of the characters (I’m getting deep here, I know), especially the frustration Lenu was feeling during the summer vacation and everything the happened after. Anyways, I’m pumped for the next two books

It is difficult to write a review about this book (2nd in series) without spoilers. It follows the relationship between Elena and Lila from their teens to their early 20s. It is set in the mid 1960s. They love each other and are close, then things happen and they go long periods without contact.

Ferrante's character development is among the best I have read in recent years. It is still difficult as times to keep up with the cast due to the number of characters and all of the nicknames. The characters are all so real, flaws and all. Be warned that this book, as in the first book, contains violence and there are scenes that are quite difficult. I have heard that there is a TV series being developed, I hope I am able to access when it is released.
