I think this book broke my heart the most. Vandal has always sort of been the dark one of the group but after the death of his daughter he gets even darker. Having been the driver of the car, he feels a lot of guilt. He finds himself at the cemetery and see a woman crying over the grave of her husband, and he wishes he could be that loved, that someone would miss him that much.

When he finds out that is was the woman from the other vehicle he decides he wants to help her, move forward, find her happy bubbly self again. Taking her to his cabin in the woods, he plans to seduce her and make her forget her pain. Finding that she likes his brand of play they enter into a D/s relationship.

The end gives you a little bit into Tabi's motivation, and how she moves forward. The way in which they found each other is different but how they came together in the end was a start to both their healing.

I cannot express how bad this is. The characters seem to only exist within the orbit of each other. Like this guy is a tattoo artist, band member, and ripped but spends no time working on any of that. Also the freehand and entire back tattoo scene? Give me a break. And don’t even get me started on the ‘he looks Native American so let’s have his house decorated with wolves and other stereotypical decor.’
Why did I even down load this.

2.75 - Possible Spoilers....

Trigger Warning - Cutting, Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Death of Child, Car Accident, Animal Abuse (not shown, but discussed)

Dark and twisted, but unrealistic story. I had a hard time with believing the ending twist. It is heartbreaking and sad to think of the sorrow and pain the main characters endured, but it didn't always ring true to me. It was a fast read and I was interested, just had issues with the story and writing.

Definite Spoilers.....

I have moved my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars because I couldn't stop thinking of my favorite side character Sterling, the blind cat as he stole my heart completely. I loved that Vandal loved and cared for Sterling even though he didn't initially want him. It was beautiful watching a tormented man learn to love something and care for an innocent kitten who had been so brutally treated. That Sterling was based on a real animal was amazing and so very sad at the same time. Sterling overcame and survived his abuse and his love helped a tormented person heal a bit too.
