I've discovered a favorite genre of mine is memoirs written by people I admire. I have enjoyed many in the last few years, and Make Something Good Today was no exception. I have loved Hometown since it came out, and Erin and Ben have a quality about them that has always drawn me to them and made me want to know more of their story. Their book did not disappoint, and I can only help but feel as if I know them a little better, even if I'll never know them in real life. 4 stars
UPDATE: A reread a year later via audiobook has made me love the book even more than the first time. They read it which is always my favorite way to listen to a memoir/autobiography, and you can’t help but love them more with every chapter. Every ounce of Ben’s warmth comes through as he adds his portions. Erin is a phenomenal and descriptive writer and her sweet voice make you feel like you are experiencing their life right along with them. This is the first time I’ve ever read and listened to a memoir, and my increased enjoyment of it is making me up my review to a 5 star read.

Dark like the usual Poe stuff but this time with a bit of light hearted undertone.
