Breathe
The Breathing Series was EVERYTHING! The amount of emotion each page amplified with each page. The pain, the heartache, the memories and the nightmares all leading to forgiveness and the pursuit of living. I'm emotionally drained yet completely full because this story will forever stay with me as one of the top series Ive ever read.

“Every breath I breathe is because of you.” His eyes flickered, still peering into mine. “Even when you weren’t there to save me, you were my reason to breathe. And for that I will always love you. Always.”
~ Evan
“Living in the mistakes of your past isn’t going to do anything but destroy your future.” ~ Evan
This book made me a hot mess!!!!
I admit that I had to go back and read Barely Breathing because it’s been so long and I loved it even more the second time. If I could have been patient before tearing into Out of Breath, I would’ve gone back and reread the entire series, but patience isn’t my strong suit so I regress.
I love this series. It’s a hard series to read so if you want sunshine and butterflies, you need to go find another book. This book is hard core and a complete emotional roller coaster! There were times I just wanted to throw my Kindle I would get so frustrated with Emma, but damn that girl has had it rough. It’s hard not to sympathize with her. I admit I can’t remember many scenes where Emma makes me want to smile, but there are so many that make me want to cry and scream (A LOT) all at the same time.
“I cried for the little girl who lost her father but never had a mother. I cried for the girl who only wanted to be accepted, but was never enough. I cried for the girl who suffered unfathomable pain at the hands of hate. I cried for the girl who deserved to be loved but didn’t know how.”~ Emma
I loved the dual POVs. I really enjoyed getting in Evan’s beautiful sexy head!!! I liked the addition of the new characters. I loved the girls, all of Evan’s friends and oh so yummy Cole. I’m hoping to see more of him, but I really wanted more Emma and Evan in this book. I feel a little ripped off. I feel like I was so frustrated for the majority of this book. I mean it’s truly torturous. I feel like the time they took was necessary, but I needed more of them. I need more happy time in a book than what this one gave me, but I loved it all the same.
I have to say, I wasn’t happy with the epilogue. I mean really?!?!?! I needed more, maybe even another book where Emma is a happy girl for a change. Overall, great series! I highly recommend it.

I loved this book. I thought the characters were great! Especially Evan, Sara, and Emma. Emma is now living with her mother, Rachel and away from her abusive aunt, Carol. Evan is the best boyfriend I've ever read about because he is compassionate, and loyal to Emma, and would do anything for her. Sara is still the best friend you could ask for, and I am very glad Emma has her. I loved how Emma tried new experiences, but it was always Evan she loved. I am glad to see the end was a happy one. I hope Rebecca Donovan makes a new series. This series is one of my favourites. Overall, an incredible read.

I had read quite a few negative reviews about this book and put off reading it for about a month. I finally decided to go ahead and read it since I loved the first two books so much, and you know what? I am glad I had. I think Rebecca Donovan did a great job illustrating how blame can become so powerful that it can lead to both self loathing and self destructive behaviors. While I would agree that the back and forth perspectives of the two main characters is slightly distracting at first, I think it worked out in the end. It gave you a chance to see how Emma perceived Evan's thoughts and what Evan's thoughts actually were.

I was pretty disappointed with this book, as most of the other reviews have stated. I was soooooo looking forward to it coming out because I absolutely loved the previous two, that I though Rebecca Donovan could do no wrong. Unfortunately, this book did not live up to those expectations. As moving and passionate as the other two books were, this book really fell flat. It was more of the usual college romance, we keep seeing in the NA genre, without the passionate love and turmoil that made the others great.
Now don't get me wrong, I still loved Emma and Evan together and I'm glad that finally happens. But you really only see them happy at the end of the book with a lot of filler in between. Still glad I read it, because of course I had to see through to the end, that's how much I loved the other two.
Some nice surprises were the supporting characters. I liked Emma's new friends and Cole was a real cutie. Spinoff anyone????
