The same plot of most of his books

It was fun. If you like his stuff you'll like it. The only notable details were what sets the plot off, and the freaking chickens. And for like the 5th time in his books I've read, major explosives defeat supernatural evil for no apparent reason. I'd feel bad about spoiling that, but seriously it's his stock ending. He phoned this one in but it works well enough

This book is a perfect example of why I love Bentley Little so much! Nonstop action, no holds barred, anything goes, fun fun fun! I'm always irritated when, at New Year's, people feel the need to shoot their guns in the air. We all know what goes up must come down, and there have been injuries and fatalities because of this practice. It always annoys me to no end. So to read this story, where Little takes that practice and shows an extreme, surrealist example of what could happen as a result: well, it was blissful horror for me! We actually even ended up with a full resolution. The monster is defeated and life slowly returns to normal.

Easy read and better the second time around. I am not sure if the first read through was just during a hectic time in my life but, I was able to follow the story better!

Basically I am convinced I never want to live in a sleepy rural town in the desert now.

Just ok...I really struggled to get into this one and it felt like it was much too long for me.
