Kurczę, cóż to za przedziwna powieść. Otessa wykreowała niesamowity świat, kunsztownie zarządzając tajemnicą w ciągłym ruchu perspektyw. Jej postacie są pełnokrwiste, zranione, bez końca ambiwalentne. A potem wchodzą w horyzontalne i wertykalne relacje, grając o władzę i miłosną transcendencję.

I could not rate it cause I DNF the book. I just could not get into it. The background and the plot are just too eerie for me.

yowza!! if you are one for the gruesome, gory, and depressingly dark, this is the moshfegh for you. there is a scene where a character puts a grape up his butthole and then tosses it into another character's mouth. and that's one of the tamer things to happen. so. do with that what you will.
