Thought you knew everything about Karen and Georgia just from listening to My Favorite Murder the podcast? WRONG. This book reads just like you'd expect and if you don't hear Karen and Georgias voices while reading this, then quit while you're ahead.

This book, brilliantly broken up by the podcaster's popularized phrases, hits on every topic a young, grown, or aged woman has gone through. From eating disorders to drug use, and praising therapy to finding your calling, this book will have you making an appointment with the next available counselor (but in a good way!) Fans of the podcast will be pleased and new murderinos will be excited to listen to every episode. Wherever you fall on this spectrum, I promise you won't be disappointed.

I had a long protocol and needed something to listen to. My library had the audiobook available. I like the podcast. It all worked out. I think if you like the ‘friends chatting’ part of the pod, you’ll like this. Since they are pretty experienced at auditory story telling/storytelling in general, I think this book was one of the better celebrity memoir audiobooks I’ve listened to.

I tried to listen to their podcast but I couldn’t get past one episode. It wasn’t because it isn’t good or because they aren’t great podcasters; I just can’t listen to details about horrific murders. True crime is a wildly popular genre these days, especially among women, and dozens of think pieces have been written trying to understand why. I get it. It’s just not my jam.

But this book is. I listened to the audio and I loved it. The two authors are Gen Xers like me, and since my generation is a Baby Bust between two booms (the Boomers and Millennials), there just aren’t that many of us out there taking up space on the cultural landscape. It’s a dueling memoir, two women telling their stories of growing up latchkey kids in the ‘70s and ‘80s. It’s feminist and real and vulnerable, like all the best memoirs are. I loved it.

I'm jealous of all the teenage girls/women in their early 20's who get to experience the podcast and read this book. It would have been sanity saving for me when I was that age! A fun and touching read. Karen's chapter about being a latchkey kid had me laughing the most.

This was not the book I expected, but toss out your expectations before you pick up any book and you’ll enjoy it much more. There were so many great gems and moments that resonated with me, even though it took me longer than it should have to get into a good rhythm with this book. I love these women, I love what they’ve created, and this book is a fun, sometimes sobering look at their own experiences and background.

Didn't think I would like this as much as I did, as I haven't listened to the podcast in years. Massive reread potential.

Not sure what I was expecting with this book, but not this. I love their podcast and I have listened to every episode, but I guess I was expecting more? It was interesting to hear stories about their lives, but the writing fell flat for me. Overall good, not great though.

I’ve never listened to the podcast but have a bunch of friends who do and wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. It was a quick listen and a good combination of personal stories, murder stories, and self help.
