I've never been more frustrated with a main character before. It would've been more enjoyable if Isla wasnt so.....Isla.

While Ms. Perkins conjures a lovely image, this one had too much insta-love, angst, insecurity and jealousy for me. It seems like a good book for a teenager to read as a reminder to not revolve your life around someone you've only just begun to date, and that you should not forsake your friendships for a romantic relationship. I felt a little overwhelmed with Isla's insecurity throughout the story, even though I can definitely relate to those insecurities so that's why I gave this one 2 stars, rather than 3.

I did like Isla's best friend, Kurt and the care with which the author took to describe/explain him.

I feel that Stephanie Perkins has a real talent with descriptive language so I would definitely read another by her. I just hope I can feel a stronger connection with the main character next time.

i got so close BUT I COULDNT STAND IT ANY LONGER

the romance felt so cringey and forced. there was literally NO tension, or build up to the romance. they were both in love immediately, that was it. the rest was just boring.

lola & isla lacked heart that anna had. and now i dnf’ed them both. whoops. i tried!

I've heard so much about this book and was so glad when I finally got the chance to settle down and read it. Although, I have to say that I was a tad bit disappointed. All of my fellow readers agreed that this was a spectacular book, however compared to other Romances in which I have read, it just didn't spark as much. Don't get me wrong, I loved reading it, and it definitely deserves the 3 stars I've given it, but so much of me expected it to be a 5-star romance novel.

It had a really cute, and unique romantic story line, however it felt so... rushed. It felt like I skipped sections here and there, and sometimes her emotions were hard to understand, even as someone who was a stage manager in a melodramatic plays.

Overall, like I said I'll give this 3 stars, and it was enjoyable despite these hiccups.

Sometimes you just need to re-read a book. I initially read this in 2016 towards my beginning spike of reading, and rated it three stars. However, going back, I would rate it two. I will leave my three star since I was close towards a pre-teen age (it's generated audience) at the time. However, as an adult it has lost all of it's luster.

I'll admit I had my doubts for the majority of this book because I wasn't feeling the intensity between Isla and Josh as much. But I loved Isla's growth towards the end. That ending completely turned my opinion around and WOAH the way Perkins ties up the whole trilogy into a spectacular ending is stunning. Expect cameos! Fantastic cameos. There is also the distinctive Perkins touch - the way she writes and describes travel is amazing (Barcelona OMG) and of course the happy, warm feeling you get that is a Stephanie-Perkins-happily-ever-after when you finish her books. I AM SO HAPPY OMG.

It took me longer to read this book than it did for the others, I think that was mainly due to the fact that I did not want it to end.
When I started reading this I was like: Isla is a Fangirl!!!!
For starters: I loved Isla and Kurt`s relationship because they are best friends and unlike other books, we don`t know if Kurt ever liked Isla romantically because it was not mentioned so I assumed not because there is always that thing where one of the best friends like the other but the other one doesn`t realise it. But this did not happen in Isla and the Happily Ever After which I thought was good.
Secondly, Josh was super sweet in this book and he did nothing (except when he was on TV and told them he didn`t have a girlfriend) that frustrated me and everything he did for Isla was so cute I was smiling most of the way through it and especially at the end.
The one thing I hated about this book was Isla herself. She kept saying she was a distraction for him and she said all of those things to him which made me want to slap her. She got mad when she red the graphic novel with the parts with Rashmi in when she wanted to know all the ugly bits in Josh`s life.
I felt sorry for Kurt when she was broke up with Josh because he was like am I a distraction for you? Because she kept going from Josh to Kurt and she spent so much time with Josh that Kurt must have felt lonely so I was glad when we found out he had new friends.
When we find out Hattie was just lonely and was upset that Isla and Gen spent so much time together and no one spent time with her, I felt so sorry for her and just wanted to hug her. So when she and Isla had that moment I was like aw.
At the end when we see everyone together - from all 3 books - I was smiling throughout the whole bit and WHEN ETIENNE PROPOSED TO ANNA I WAS OVERWHELMED WITH FEELS!!! And then we see Lola and Cricket together, awwwww.
Then the ending chapter, I was crying because it was so sweet and cute and NEAR THE END.
I know I haven`t mentioned much in this review, it`s just that I`m still speechless.
