Highly recommend listening to this book. Julia Roberts reads while you hear snippets of Lisa Marie’s recordings and Riley reads her parts.

I’ve known the gist of her story and of course what I’ve seen in the tabloids and news, so very much appreciated learning her side of things especially her relationship with Michael Jackson. From the outside and the reporting, I thought it was a fling and it was nice to learn about the depth of their relationship.

I commend the honesty that Lisa Marie shared about her life, which included the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’m thankful for Riley’s input and making sure her mom’s story was told in her own words.

This was so sad.

Lisa went through so much, but she also had so much love. Riley paid beautiful tribute to her mother, and in turn, her grandfather in doing this.

I've been a fan of Elvis Presley since I was a young child, and as part of that, I've always followed Lisa-Marie's life, too. This biography was her telling her side of the many stories written about her throughout her tumultuous life and her memories of her father and his death. Sadly, she hadn't finished writing her memoir when she passed away, and it fell to her daughter, Riley Keough, to complete the book; offering an additional perspective, which was helpful. This isn't the world's greatest ever book; it's bitty, not particularly thorough, but it does illustrate clearly the difficulties of lives lived in the public eye and the excesses, and tragedy that brings.

I know nothing much about the Presley family, but hearing Lisa and Riley’s intertwined story was so heartbreaking. Julia Roberts narrates with Riley also, and Lisa has some recordings thrown in too.

All I could think about was that Lisa seemed to have similar problems with fame as Britney Spears? While Britney did not turn to opioids and drug usage like Lisa did, their lives took tumultuous turns and were in the spotlight at every right and wrong.
