A couple that made each other stronger

Cassiopeia and Nikolai were just perfect for each other. The qualities they brought out in each other just made them stronger. Nikolai was obsessive and possessive to the extreme... chef's kisses. Cassiopeia understood what drove him and kept him on his toes.

There seemed to be some skipping towards the end that jumped some significant changes, especially in relation to other characters in the book.

Overall, it was a good story that kept me intrigued and turning pages.

wow! wow! wow!

Serena did it again! I absolutely fell in love with Niko and Cassie. I have no doubt that The Forgotten Boys will all fall to their knees for the love of their queens if Niko is anything to go by. These Russian mobsters love their queens like no other and will burn the earth to keep them safe. Nikos love for his sons is beautiful and their banter is lighthearted and fun. I’m looking forward to the next installment already!

2.5 - 3 ⭐️ This should not be marketed as a standalone. There's way too much information and involvement from previous characters to really enjoy this book alone.

Also, as a size 18 woman with PCOS, the "representation" in this book is infuriating. When the MMC tells the FMC she's beautiful. Her internal thoughts are "I'm not - I'm fat and PCOS means that losing the weight is impossible"... it's not impossible. It's significantly more difficult, but this girl loves to wallow in self pity. Then she's magically able to get pregnant with him in the same year with no on page details of how she overcame her constantly mentioned PCOS ... ok.

The MMC is completely unhinged. I normally love the batshit level OTT obsessive, but the constantly sitting on his lap thing is stupid and not tactically beneficial to her protection. The spice was pretty decent, but I was begging for the book to end by 85%.

Kidnapping, Hades x Persephone retelling, Mafia, forced proximity

It was really good and very well written with a great storyline. Learning more about them both as the story went on was good. It was great learning more about the MamC and seeing all the men being loyal to him and what he did growing up to earn that loyalty. The main characters chemistry and romance was so good you forget she was forced to be there. The scene with him wanting to shave her was so funny and there she was just trying to negotiate, Lol.

WHOA!! What an amazing start to a new series by one of my favorite authors. This book has it all, great characters, angst, sorrow, loss, and lots of mafia violence, don't forget the sexy times with the Pahkan. I just had a major book hangover from reading this, it left me wanting so much more!
