Thank you for NetGalley for my free audiobook copy of this book!
Oh my lanta. I really did not enjoy this book which honestly really sucks because I really thought that the idea and the plot had so much potential.
The main protagonist was not relatable at all. He was super whiny and annoying. He had a very selfish attitude and it made for an irritating listen. Like, can we talk about why he tells Blake that he wants to start dating him and *not* because Michael was no longer an option and.. then.. POOF! Andre is at Michael’s door wishing to stay there forever and acting like he was the main option. The fuck?
Ugh. I don’t know about this one, my dude’s. It was really juvenile feeling.

Following Dre's journey from ordinary guy in need of a new liver to time traveller in love with two guys, one in 1969 and one today was interesting. At times it was really interesting, as he struggled to understand what was going on and how he was able to make these jumps, while at other times the history and rules about time travel felt a little messy. I also didn't quite connect with either Michael or Blake, and buying that Dre is in love with both is critical to understanding his dilemma. Dre is very self-centered (possibly understandable because of his cancer and need for the liver), but his confusion is real, as are his comments to Blake and Michael about how to respond in certain situations (the snark was real and I could hear myself saying the same things.

3.5 ⭐️

It isn’t the best book i’ve ever read, but i loved it. I loved the plot, the characters and their journey. Quite a lot annoyed me - hence why i’m giving it 3.5 stars and not 4 - but these characters found a way into my heart and i became invested in them. And, god, the ending. It had me bawling my eyes out.

A quote i really liked was “[…] you’re worth making a fool of myself for.”
