The action in this one was good, but it overshadowed the romance and I'm just not all about that life.

Such a shame - the first book was fun but this book was a chore. I like the fact that the dramaz of book one were not neatly resolved but not a huge amount of progress is made in this entry. And whilst I complained that Beth and Zane were somewhat lacking in the personality department, and that the same complaint can't be levelled at Cosky and Kait, unfortunately they just came across as unrelatable and at time unpleasant people. I get that Cosky was intended to be a surly kind of guy, but he was pretty lacking in any redemptive qualities beyond the fact that he was hot. And Kait is sassy and a healer... and that's about it. It could have been a fun setup with more complexity and obstacles to overcome, but sadly there was just lots of good ideas poorly developed.

Intense!!

I LOVE this series! It's so riveting and just plain awesome. I love each couple's story in each book and love that we get to see the couples grow as the books move on. Can't wait for Rawls' story and I really hope Jillian gets some peace.

I think the story line in this series is great but the love scenes are so cheesy and unnecessary.

★★★½.
At first, this book seemed like it was about Kait Winchester and Navy SEAL Lieutenant Marcus “Cosky” Simcosky, and their avoidance of the heat between them. But there were 2 other storylines (couples) getting a good deal of attention, Jillian & Wolf and Mac and Amy.
This story was enjoyable but I was also reading KGI and The Ghostwalkers---and it didn't measure up to them (as least the writing wasn't as good).

I didn't like the whole healing thing, it was too farfetched but I liked Wolf's premonitions as well as Zanes. I will follow this series but It's not a must read for me.

Well, that was a rather abrupt ending. I was expecting one more chapter at the very least. Not an epilogue, just one more chapter... It almost felt as if the book ended right in the middle of the action, but I suppose it didn't. Guess it's on to the next one! :)

According to my Kindle, I've read this before, but I have absolutely no memory of it. At all. Not one moment rang a bell.

The romance felt rather secondary to the overarching plot. We spent a lot of time with other characters, not all of which I enjoyed. Mac was unbelievably annoying to read. That being said, I do like the conspiracy plotline so far.

Marcus “Cosky” Simcosky was injured during the events of the previous book and the diagnosis isn't good. Doctors tell him that he'll be lucky to be able to walk, will definitely have a limp and will never rejoin his SEAL team. Desperate, he's even willing to try something he doesn't believe in, Kait Winchester's healing gift.

Kait is his friend's sister and off limits, no matter the intense chemistry between them and the years he's wanted her. During the healing session, things become heated between them and take a turn neither expected.

To his surprise, the healing also seems to have made a difference and he'll need to get in shape quickly, since their enemies are acting against their team and they have no one to rely on but each other.

Fast paced with a very well suited couple that has its own share of obstacles to overcome, including Cosky's determination to protect any woman from the worry and possible grief of a SEAL wife.
