I don’t like that there were basically no consequences for the lady’s actions

Solid psychological thriller, especially for a debut novel. It does a great job depicting adolescent cruelty. If you’re listening to the audiobook though, the editing is TERRIBLE. Don’t get me wrong, the voice actor is great. It’s the editing. There are repeated passages throughout and, at one point, you actually hear the actor clear her throat and repeat the passage.

I have never failed to notice how so many people share too much on Facebook and how you never really know who is looking at your posts. “Friend Request” displays a horrifying example of this. This is one of several reasons why I found this book to be so disturbing. I also found this book to be very relatable due to the fact that in my school days I was the “Maria Weston” of my year so this one really was an emotional rollercoaster for me. Emotional complications aside though this is an amazing story, very well written and a phenomenal debut! There are so many suspects that I found myself suspecting so many people and that’s something I never do! Usually I just go with the flow and see what transpires but Laura Marshall just couldn’t let that happen. I had my suspects but I’m no Columbo and so I honestly didn’t have a clue what was going on at all. If you haven’t read this one yet then I would definitely recommend it, if I had to sum it up for you in one sentence I would say
“I Know What You Did Last Summer meets Agatha Christie”.

Very slow to start. Ending is explosive.
