Turbulent LOL

In the beginning I thought Jake was a mental patient, he was such an unrepentant jerk. I was both turned off by his attitude as I was intrigued. Gillian I knew from the first was a softie, even if she was so snarky with Jake. I loved seeing how Jake's obsession with Gillian grew and he kept opening, very reluctantly, to her overtures, and how he acceded to her demands, one at a grudging time. As an erotic book, it was excellent, but as a book in un-forgiveness it was a real gem. Jake kept a vivid resentment against his father and brother, and I liked how lifelike it was. What they did was really horrendous and forgiving would have been too much. Jake had a lot of love to give, but no trust at all in a anyone, and it was understandable. At times, I felt like he was trapped in a jail with no means to get out. Of the two main characters, he was the interesting one. Gillian just gave love and sex when he demanded. She was there for him when he requested, demanded more of him than anyone else and opened him to feelings long buried dead. Their story was turbulent and entertaining and the end predictable but felt sorta incomplete. But the journey reading it was superb.

I would’ve given this book a better rating because the storyline and plot twists were incredible. I haven’t read a book where the author unfolds the twists as smoothly as in this book, what I didn’t like however was the lack of everything except chemistry/passion between the two characters.

The heroine, Gillian, spent more time explaining to Jake why he liked her rather than waiting to hear if he actually did. At times it felt like if Gillian hadn’t pushed him to confess his feelings, commit to her and ultimately stay with her he would’ve been fine walking away, the relationship felt very superficial which was disappointing as there was so much potential there.

I'm not sure why I hadn't read this book before now , especially, because it had been on my TBR for years. This was a highly entertaining book. I liked the characters and their chemistry. Jake was grumpy and set in his ways and Gillian was more sunshine and outgoing. It worked for these two.

There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out, mainly everything with his family. I felt more resolution and details were needed. Still, highly recommend this book and author.

"There are only three things i hated in this world more than my cruel circus of a family: The new changes in the airline industry, the fact that the airline industry was the only industry i could ever see myself working for, and that the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the hotel room apparently didn't mean shit anymore"

This started out with a bang!!! I knew Whitney G would never disappoint me with the humor and 'Do not give a fuck' attitude so when i was in a massive book slump, I picked up her book just to get me out. I mean the half of the book was just pure fun and i really enjoyed it soo much. But I wanted morrrreeeeeee.

"I need you to tell me how the hell you passed your psychiatric evaluation six weeks ago"

"I studied"

"dont fuck with me Weston"

I just died!

"If you'd like to re-test me in the same way," I said, returning her business card and tucking it into her front pocket, "Let me know. However, contrary to what you so adamantly said seconds ago, you will swallow every result....."

Damnnn... no comment here! None at all

"Well, enlighten me, please." She looked up and scratched her head. "In the event of something unfortunate happening to you, who would you like us to call first?"

"A funeral home."

Silence.

Just shoot me already please XD

"Lighten up, Gill. Learn how to laugh a little."
"Learn how to tell a joke." I jerked away from him
I'm going to kill him!

Sometimes she will stare at me so long that i would be forced to help her quickly get dressed so we won't get caught

Mean much?

Jake has really been through a lot and the fact that he won't open up to anymore was understandable really. It took him a long time to get over his father, brother, and ex-wife (Ohhh that bitch!)

"You got upset with me because i filed for a divorce, then you told the police I'd previously beat you in the face with a tire jack. That is physical abuse, and it was a goddamn lie

SOMEONE HOLD ME! IMMA BEAT HER UP!!!

I really like the book soo much but i definitely had some issues with it. Regarding how he refused to hear her out which dragged the book over several chapters. So three stars will do this. And i am comparing this to her other books which I loved! Also, This completely got me out of a reading slump

Turbulence is just that... turbulent. A chaos of emotions that leads to nail biting and rapid page turning in anticipation of what's coming next. Up until it happened, I had no idea just how this one would end... I'm not going to tell you. I'll let you find out whether Jake and Gillian crash and burn or if they have a smooth landing.
