this whole book got me worried abt newt & minho all the time oml. a very great read, forced me to imagine all the scenarios they were in (which was hard sometimes as a non-english speaker). although i still did  luv the world-building on this one! it’s a great sequel to the first book & opened the world into more dangerous paths than they were in before (from being trapped in a box to exploring the outside desolate unknown). still can’t believe how cruel W.I.C.K.E.D. is to a bunch of teenagers & using them as the cure to justify their bloody crimes like how much more do u want them to suffer just to get ur results …. can’t wait to get my hands on the third book <3

This is personally, my least favorite out of the main series, but definitely worth while. I heard if you watch the movies before you read the books it’s more challenging to get through. I didn’t watch the movies before the books, and I absolutely loved it! Would recommend.

Easily the best book in the series and a big step up from the first book. The world grows much bigger and the mystery of why the world is the way it is makes for an intriguing and tense story. The big twist at the end was weird and still is weird to me to this day but I would not say it was bad.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I actually preferred it to the first book in the series. The plot was super interesting and unpredictable, so I got invested easily.

I enjoyed this sequel to the Maze Runner, but not more than the first book itself. This book feels like a bridge between the first book and (hopefully) the resolutions in the third book, in a bit of an unnecessary way. The way that it was written and the events in this book feel like it either should have been fleshed out more with less repetitive situations and narrations, and more details about what the heck is actually going on in the world- or should have been combined with the third book (granted, I have not read the third book yet, but I'm assuming we find out more about all the questions we have there).
The narrative is a bit repetitive, with Thomas having the same thought processes more than once.
I can definitely feel that Thomas is a teenager with the way his feelings change every five minutes about something. I'm not sure if that's on purpose or a result of the writing style, but I enjoyed this book nonetheless.

An amazing book, better than the first. Can’t wait to read the next one.
