Chip Jones did an excellent job adding the human element to this as he describes how a couple of ambitious doctors conducted the world's first heart transplant - with the heart of a black man who the hospital put minimum effort into locating.

Given all of the material (or lack thereof) that the author had to work with I think he did a superb job. I think he handled this subject very tactfully without pulling punches, and handled all deceased, especially Bruce Tucker, with dignity.

Having not known anything about the subject and the people involved before the novel, I think he did a great jobaking it approachable and digestable. Only the courtroom got a little away from me, but the rest was good.

Wow, this was so good. I knew a little bit about this, but didn't know how extensive it was.
