I was riding a solid 1-2 stars this whole time until the ending. It had all the action, yes, but it ended so well!

3 stars for Larison.

Another great recommendation from Mr. Miller. Did not think I was going to enjoy this one, but I thoroughly did. Docking points for not having actual chapters though. The ending had my heart.

A western with a taste of gay?? Yes please thank you I'll take that.

A genuinely fun romp of a story, full of interesting characters and a great backdrop of landscape and attitudes alike. Only one pet peeve came up for me, and that is the spoiler-y type way some of the scenes played out. I know the story is being told as if being repeated by the main character later in life, but spoiling something by saying 'that was the last time I saw him' or something similar just really gets my goat.

Either way it's excellent fun and proved a great way to bring a little sunshine and warmth to rainy January evenings.

I wanted a western, I got a western. The book started out really strong and I found myself tearing through it. But after she found her brother the story seemed to drag a bit. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy beautiful prose and who are more experienced in the genre. But for those who are newly venturing into westerns, I would pass on it.
