Funny but also kinda unremarkable and went nowhere and said little? Still fun though.

The writing style of this novel is a treasure: it feels like it's being narrated by an oppressively outgoing coworker who quickly becomes a best friend in vignettes littered with self-deprecating anecdotes and humorous references to pop culture, but the subjects covered here are serious and the journey is ultimately fulfilling. I think autobiographical fiction can be quite difficult to buy into at times, but I didn't find that to be an issue here, because the voice is so clear and honest and demands inside reflection of situations that many of us are too privileged to ever experience. A fantastic and genuinely funny book.

Great disability representation, incredibly funny. Made me reflect about my own interpersonal relationships and disabilities

The last 20/25 percent ish made up for the major beginning bulk of this book. It felt too self-inserty for me and Elliot was not likable nor was he someone I could sympathize with. A cis white man who is immensely privileged in spite of his cerebral palsy... had problems I just couldn't fully understand. It was only towards the end when we meet Jonas that the author actually gave Elliot more of a human quality and I understood what he was trying to tell the readers when it came to disability rep and laws. Except, I wonder how the author feels when it comes to bipoc, trans and other concerns.

Really good writing. A lot of explicit sexual content, more explicit than I prefer but more matter of fact than erotica style.
He's really funny and witty and the character is flawed and introspective in an honest way. I like the disabled identity progression.
