This book is definitely written BY a neurotypical FOR neurotypicals. The author talks about "attention disorders" in a very condescending way. She also asks the reader to look at everyone around them using their phones and imagine that they are shooting up heroin instead? She really relies on shitty metaphors that undermine a lot of people's lived experiences and it does not make for particularly impactful writing.
The author spends more than half of the book trying to scare the reader into wanting to spend less time on their phone. This is not necessary, as the reader has already purchased a book called "how to break up with your phone". Honestly the only useful thing I got from this book is that seeing it laying around the house reminds me that I want to use my phone less.
If you are a middle-aged neurotypical with an email addiction, I guess this book could help. Otherwise, don't bother.
