I dug this series. It was cute but also very problematic. Why is an adult man falling for a teenage girl and everyone is ok with it? I don't know, when I was younger I would not have questioned this but as an older person, it's just iffy to me.

This last volume was also too neat for my tastes, it's like everyone got what everyone wanted ta-dahhh!

This has to be one of the weirdest manga I’ve read. I didn’t like the romance or most of the characters and I can’t understand how Shimana didn’t choose Zen, like hello?¿ anyway, I’m kind of scared to read Orange now.

I can't believe i have finally finished this series! It honestly feels so surreal. While everyone is super against this because the large age gap, i cannot deny that i really love the series despite that and while i was the biggest hater of it when it was first introduced, when the landlord actually had to go away, i really wanted him to come back so badly.
Firstly, i honestly thought with every single soul in my body that zen would be with shimana but honestly im really glad that he at least has someone and i feel like they kinda pulled a fruits basket on me like how we all, or at least i did thought that yuki was going to end up with tohru but ended up with machi instead? Well anyways yes i think it was a really nice round up for him.
For asahi um BABE IS SUCH A GOOD DUDE WHY WAS HE THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT A TECHNICALLY HAPPY ENDING? Like bro. I know they hinted to something but still jm sad, disappointed and like wow i cant believe they had to make his love blood related? Like damn
And for the happy couple shimana and landlord, i feel that shimana should have another goal in life than just wanted to be with the landlord like its not healthy babe but yes. And im honestly just happy for all the characters and yes! Did i wish she had fallen for anybody else but the landlord? Yes! But i grew to like him more overtime and while i still wish she liked anybody else,im still happy about how the story ended.

FINALLY I am free from this train wreck of a series series amen 🙏🏼
wtf am i even supposed to say about Asahi and Manami like ??? She's all "I'll still always love you, etc." at her WEDDING and he's like "damn girl should you be saying that (but also same)" and she's like "well yeah you're my little half brother ofc i love you!" BRUH WHAT 🤨
Anyways there were some kernels of goodness here I mean:
  • Taiga and Asahi kinda solidifying their sibling bond since the truth is out that they're half brothers and Taiga does't have to try and keep the secret. I mean, Taiga hugging him is more emotion then he's ever shown Shimana I- (also, housewife Asahi supremacy ik that's right)
  • MIURA 😭😭 He remained an icon until the end, the way he walked in like "'sup i'm living here now cause you need an adult to watch over you and Taiga (and his dad) asked me to" and the kids were all "scram or we'll call the police!" "I am the police"  Pls I love him and then the fact that the author was literally like "and then two years passed" like girl?!?! 😭 That was Shimana's time to grow up and stop chasing after the landlord. Anyways at least we got a bit of Miura trying to replace Fugiwara, "What can I do to make you guys like me?" and his happiness when they said "welcome home" for the first time to him. Or when Taiga came back and he was like "welcome to our house, yeah my bonds with the kids have grown pretty deep over the past two years-" and everyone's like thanks but no thanks our king has returned get out 💀 he deserves better y'all
  • Asahi's adopted dad, when Asahi told him "It's OK, because the one that raised me was you. Had it been him [Fugiwara Sr], I wouldn't have known kindness or compassion. So thank you, Dad." Father of the CENTURY let's go
  • Uhm the ending with the sleepover was actually perfect don't @ me

I have very mixed feelings about this series as a whole. I think this final volume was the perfect way to wrap things up and I actually enjoyed it. But I honestly didn’t love most of the other volumes. I don’t like the landlord.. I don’t think they had any chemistry at all.. even on their wedding day. It was very weird. Zen was my favorite character and I hate that he spent this whole manga in love with Shimana. He deserved more.

I really enjoyed the friendships within the house.. I just wish that Zen would have moved on sooner. It was kind of a downer that he was so obsessed with her and she was obsessed with the landlord.

Overall.. well I didn’t actually like this series. I purchased the whole series up front which was the only reason I finished it.

Wow I finally finished this series and the ending annoyed me so much.

This adult man just followed her around school in a school uniform pretending to be a high schooler for a day. And they really just got married...?? Like Shimana had no motivations except wanting romance and her literal whole being revolved around being with the landlord. She goes to college to be with him, she's willing to give everything up for him to go to school. Like wanting a romance and a happy ending and to get married is fine. But she literally had nothing else for herself.

I'm happy for Zen and the girl (I already forgot her name because she was literally just thrown in to give Zen a new love interest). I would've preferred a series about them tbh because they were cute. I don't even want to talk about Asahi and his crush/half sister. I think Asahi's plot line would've been interesting if it got more development, but it's so glossed over i don't get what the point was.

This series was just not good imo. Which is extremely disappointing because I've liked Takano's other books and this was just... yikes.
