Tarnished is sequel to Perfected. The story starts a week later after Perfected ended.
Ella is stuck in a Canadian safe house, a refugee center. Penn isn't with her, so this
story starts with Ella wanting to get back to Penn, who is with his father. There is a bit
of a twist when she runs into someone and Ella is exposed to the black market and the
life of a pet allowed to be bought, I loved that we get to see her taking some risks, also that we find more about the kennels and enjoyed the part where they try to get the
information with the girls. All she wants is to rescue and be reunited with Penn and
expose the breeding program.

If you haven't read this series, let me tell you these books are a very different kind of
dystopian story from the ones you usually read, like my review for the first book, this
book is also very well written, I love technology so this is what made me read it in the first place. I can't wait for next book either.

The series had promise, but it fell off.

After reading and really enjoying the first book “Perfected” I was really excited to be offered the second book.

I was curious to see where it would go from there for Ella. It was not what I expected, I didn’t expect her to go back to the States after all she went through to make it to Canada. But after being separated from Penn at the border it was the only thing she could think of.

Much like the last book I hardly could put the book down. It was captivating interesting and disturbing all at once.

Tarnished, the second book in the Perfected series, surprisingly, is better than it's predecessor! I was skeptical going into the second book because I wasn't thrilled about the first one. The story was interesting and I had no doubt that I wanted to read the second one, but I wasn't as excited for it as I have been about the other YA books being released this winter. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the second book as opposed to the first. She added a surprising character to her entourage of main characters, and continued the story in a way that flowed very well. I didn't notice anything jarring or out of character/place, and genuinely enjoyed the story and the twists and turns it took. There were moments of being tense, moments of fluff, and these all made the book more enjoyable.

The ending was promising, and I'm more excited to read the third book than I was to read the second one, so I'm sure that the continuation of what this story has become has just as much promise as Tarnished did.

I accidentally read this one before the first one. I was mostly annoyed through the book that things weren't better explained. Ops! I did like the book over all. Especially after I found out there was a first one! ;) I felt like this book was a little rushed as well. It's good in a way because it keeps you engaged, but it also felt like something came too easy. I did enjoy it and plan to read the 3rd one when it comes out! Which is hopefully real soon! :-)

Idk, the first one was so good but for some reason I lost so much interest in this. I might come back to it at another time
