A very good finale, although the start was let down by following on from the previous book’s cruelly horrific cliffhanger. Nevertheless, it picked up very quickly and gave all the great characters fitting stories to use and deepen them.

I really loved the book. It gave me hope. It was beautiful yet heartbreaking story of a bunch of people who fight their way to home and freedom. Perfect book for fantasy lovers.

My only complaint was that this book was so long. But I understand it needed to tie up all the loose ends. So beautifully written and the perfect end to a great series.

What a way to wrap up this series. Even though this is almost 1000 pages, I still feel like l some characters didn’t get the storyline and wrap up that they deserved.
The battle between Maeve and aelin is what is knocking this from a 5 star for me, because it’s “it was all an illusion” was kind of convoluted imo. I understand why she wrote it like that bc of Maeve’s valg powers, but still I don’t love it.
also enjoyed some of the crossovers between acotar and cc (like the glow worms!)

If you like Sarah J Maas, you will like this book.  I like the ACOTAR series and have read the Cresent City as well.   Finishing the Throne of Glass saga left me with a thought.  Just like her other book, the pacing is grating for me.  There is so much world-building and hand-holding and unnecessary pain for shock.  Then, the last hill of a roller coaster in the last 100 pages.   It leaves you emotionally raw, stripped, and, for me, not in a good way.  I thought this was the series that started her journey, and I watched the progression of her writing style.  The structure and pacing are all the same, so I am done.    Alien, Feyre, and Bryce are all the same with just enough variance to say some are different.    I am done with Maas, but for others her books are golden and for her writing style this one is a good one.
