I am a big fan of Megan Goldin but this one completely missed the mark for me. Such a huge difference between this one and all the others, which I loved. This was hard to read, felt long, boring, I didn't care about any of the characters or the story.

Hoping the next one will be better.

Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read this book!

3.75 ✨ || I really enjoy the podcast “trope” within psychological crime reads like this one.
While there was some character development in Rachel Krall’s character’s debut book, Night Swim, and still developing in this book, there was also relationship development between Rachel and one of the officers, so I imagine that is setting up for the next Rachel Krall book!? I will say I could have gone without that bit however I can understand why the author developed the characters this way :0).
I also learned that snakes eat themselves and a reason for it is high stress.
Overall, I really enjoyed the read and would recommend if you are looking for something a bit more fast-paced.

I just finished Dark Corners by Megan Goldin and am baffled as to why this one got so many mixed reviews. This suspenseful, gripping novel was a definite 5 ⭐️ read for me!
I loved being reunited with my favorite true-crime podcaster, Rachel Krall, and diving into another intriguing plot that was packed with twists, turns and downright foreboding.
Told from multiple POVs, it was riveting seeing the complex, yet easy to follow, mystery unfold.
As someone who works in the tradeshow and convention industry, I loved that Rachel attended BuzzCon. It was a fascinating glimpse into the lifestyles of social media influencers.
I don’t enjoy reading pure romance novels, but this one had a romance subplot that was just the right amount.
I am anxiously awaiting this next one in the Rachel Krall series!

I probably should have read the first book, first.... but I really liked the Night Swim and Goldin's books are easy to read so I was pretty excited when I got an ARC of this.

I thought that the buildup of this story was good, true crime podcaster meets involvement in a true crime situation. The characters all had important roles and I appreciated that there wasn't an over-introduction of characters (This is a personal thing; the last few thrillers I've read have had many characters I've had to try and keep track of).

A little predictable, but still an enjoyable read. Would definitely recommend if you want a thriller, bonus points if you're a true crime junkie!

*Thank you to St Martin's Press, Netgalley and Megan Goldin for an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

This was an amazing read! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I read it. I didn't see the twist at the end, but I love it all the same. It was well written, entertaining, engaging, super interesting. I really enjoyed this read, may eventually read again. I really liked the main character and would like it if this book were to become a series. I mean, like a need to read this one first series with recurring characters and everything.
