Once again, Stephen Fry has knocked it out of the park. Having basic knowledge myself of Troy and the epic downfall, this book is a great continuation of an area of history with so much up to interpretation. The ease of storytelling is transformative. Don't get me wrong, keeping all the names straight is hard but, you get used to it. Thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend as a good starting place in case you want to explore more.

As with Fry’s other books, this one was a wonderful read! Fry expertly retells the story with a wonderful mix of formal and informal language. The story of the siege of Troy has been retold in so many ways, but this version truly hooked me!

Fry again does again a great job humanizing Greek mythology. When I read mythology before the behavior of the characters always seemed rather absurd and I had trouble connecting to them, but Fry really manages to construct a world in which all of it makes sense and the protagonists stand out as humans one can commiserate and identify with.
