Less angsty than previous Shadowland books. For when a Domme book?

Another great addition to the series. I liked seeing Sally as a bit of a nerd vs just a brat. Loved Galen and Vance although in my head I kept switching up the physical descriptions and back stories. Who's up next?

So this one was ok for me. I feel like there were some missed opportunities in this book.

Coming into this, I was excited to read more about Sally. She's been a trainee I think since the beginning and hasn't really piqued anyone's interest until the last book. I really liked her in the last one, but I'm not so sure how I feel after this one. My biggest issue with her was she acted like she hasn't been in the BDSM lifestyle and was almost like Jessica thinking everyone was "hurting" their subs. Or at one point, she was getting an attitude with Nolan because he had Beth get him something and she had to be reminded that all subs are different. Really?!?!? She's been around for this long and now that she's the focal point she is written like it's her first day. Yeah, I'm not ok with that. It's a running pattern I've noticed that all females have major self-doubt issues. And Sally was no exception.

I liked Vance and Galen. But there was a missed opportunity with them. We didn't get really any background as to why these two have chosen to live together, top together, share a sub, etc... We see that Lance hates liars because his ex-wife was a liar and Galen's wife was killed because of a case he was working on. I knew they were partners because they were introduced several books ago. However, I really would have loved to get more background on them vs. why Sally is so insecure.

I LOVED that we saw Kari and Dan again. I really loved them, and they don't get a lot of extra time in these books. But when we do see them, guess what??? Kari is insecure about her body because she had a baby. I'm glad they figure it out, but still.

I'm not trying to pick this book apart, but at this point, I'm 8 books in and I feel like we should be getting something more. I'm super glad this Harvest Association stuff is done with or it seems to me anyway. I am curious where the next books go, but I'm really hoping we get some different issues with the women instead of what we've been getting.

Rating: 5 Stars
Another 5 star rating in the books for this series. I love the pranks that Sally was doing to her Feds that had me laughing out loud between her drawing faces on their toys and hacking their system to leave messages. Also the emotional roller coaster ride that this book was giving me with the story between Sally, her Feds, and the Harvest group, and the story with Kari and Dan. I'm just glad the book ended with several happy endings for all the members of the Shadowlands.
