The title alone had me excited for this third book in the Mr. Terupt series. The gang is back and in junior high with a host of ups and downs. Health issues, pregnancy, possibly losing a teacher due to budget cuts. Will the gang be able to manage to stay together and fight for their beloved teacher or will they drift apart due to the pressures of junior high?

Another great addition to the series. It's generally more of the same, tackling family issues more than only focusing on the kids.

This might have been my favorite book in the series. Such a great set of coming of age stories. I must warn you that there are some themes in it that are more advanced for a younger reader *SPOILER* (sex, diabetes, racism, high risk pregnancies, traumatic brain injuries).

However, don't miss the opportunity to have a structured conversation with your kids about any of the themes that come up in the book. Also, ultimately, the kids do end up handling the situations well and the adults in the book are inspiring as role models. The characters are a little cliche, but ultimately, Rob Buyea weaves depth into them and you end up loving every one of them. I wish Rob would hurry up and write more books. My son and I finished this and we immediately went to see if he'd written anything else...no such luck. Taking recommendations for similar authors!

This was beautiful, but I maintain that the first book, [book:Because of Mr. Terupt|7783920], was the best of the three.

I can't believe there's just one book left of this series. I'll miss it for sure.

I'm a big fan of the Mr. Terupt books, and this one is no exception! I love the different personalities/perspectives of "the gang." A great, light-hearted, heart-warming read.

This was the third book in the series, and I thought it would be the end, but there is a 4th book out now (haven't read it yet). This time, the students are in a new building, away from Mr. Terupt, and some of them are struggling with the change in environment and navigating high school. This time around, the students are concerned about budget cuts that could affect staffing at their school. They devise a plan to try to raise money to save the school district from cutting the budget - and teacher jobs. This was an enjoyable book in the series and one I'm certain young readers will enjoy.

Still love this series, but this book dragged things out more than was necessary.

"The kids from Mr. Terupt’s fifth- and sixth-grade classes are entering their first year of junior high school. There’s a lot to be excited about, but there are new challenges, too. Peter and Jeffrey face tough competition on their wrestling team. Alexia has a disastrous first day of school, and that’s only the beginning. Anna is desperate for Charlie to propose to her mother—what is he waiting for?! Danielle isn’t feeling so well, but she's trying to tough it out, like Grandma. Trouble with a bully makes Luke dread going to school for the first time ever. And Jessica is waiting anxiously for an acceptance to a theater retreat in New York City.
Everyone is missing Mr. Terupt. When a fight threatens to break up the group forever, they think their favorite teacher is the only one who can help them. But the kids soon find out that it’s Mr. Terupt who needs saving."
