Okay good endings always get me. This was probably a low 4 stars until the end! The powers and curses are pretty weird and imbalanced and I didn’t love that. But the story overall was good. Excited to see where the second one goes because it could get spicy

The story was pretty interesting, and I really liked the action. I did find that the romance between the lead characters didn’t feel natural. I could see the growing attraction with the morally grey male, but the gold King, honestly didn’t see it coming. He was distant, cold, kept going back and forth whether he was on her side or not. The reveal of his feelings for her came out of left field for me. I might read the next book just to see if it gets better. No real spice in these either.

i’m weeping. every twist, every turn, every time i thought i had it, i was wrong. what an ending. there better be a sequel or i will scream. this is the best book i’ve read in a while. simply stunning. perfect.
