Meh. It got really heavy-handed with the preaching.
What I did like about this universe was seeing what was going on behind the scenes of this utopia. So many other dystopian stories make it seem like it is all perfection and everyone is in line. But this story gives a look behind the curtain and we’re like, “Of course these perfect “free” citizens don’t make their own cloth!”
But, I don’t think I’m interested enough to go on to the third book.

Got 25% in and realized that the world wasn't new and there was nothing really tying me to the characters. Perhaps if I'd read the first book it might have been different, but I hadn't. DNF.

Having just read [b:Remake|22299642|Remake (Remake, #1)|Ilima Todd|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1414559927s/22299642.jpg|41687663] I was very concerned for Theron. It was just my luck that the second book in this trilogy came out recently. Even though Dystopian is not my thing, I needed to know Theron's story. This installment still has a strong family message, which I love. But just a warning, this has a bigger cliffhanger ending than the first.

Love this series! Hopefully there will be a third book in the series. This book is about Theron and what happens to him after Nine leaves. As Theron wrestles with his feelings for Nine, he finds a new potential love whom he must rescue from Freedom One.
Although this was written several years ago, it is even more relevant today especially when the importance of families is being questioned, gender is being questioned, and we are dealing with a pandemic which was the reason Freedom One was created in the first place. Such a great and timely read!
