I had read the first 5 books in middle school over a decade ago and wanted to reread them this year. This is the first one that I'd never read, and is easily the best one so far. It feels like there's finally some character development in an otherwise immensely selfish and childish main character. I'm looking forward to reading the final books.

Honestly, although the book and the whole series in my opinion was very good, this specific book was not exciting and the ending did not believe me crying. But it was still a great read and I do rather not die of a heart attack again because of an awesome book.

as the sixth book of the series, it holds up pretty well with the ones before it. I am getting rather tired of Raven's histrionics over every little thing, which was what was a turn off.

I liked Alexander's parents. They were hilarious with all their innuendos about their vampirism.

I wanted to take Trevor and beat him with a club, and even Raven for her two 2.2 seconds of the what if thought.

Raven is now back in Dullsville and another year in high school is about to begin. Raven is hardly looking forward to going back to school. Not only will she end up seeing her beloved vampire Alexander less, she will have to do homework and see her nemesis Trevor. One day, an unexpected letter arrives for Alexander announcing his parents' arrival to Dullsville. Raven cannot wait to meet her boyfriend's parents and hopes that they would approve of her - a mortal teenaged girl, a commoner, dating their son - vampire royalty. Meanwhile, Alexander seems on edge.
When Mr. and Mrs. Sterling do arrive, it appears as if everyone else in town has gotten a sighting of them... everyone except Raven. It appears as if Alexander is hiding his parents from her. Raven nothing more than to know why? Is it because they do not approve? Or is Alexander hiding something else from her. Raven will have to do what she does best and find out what is going on in the mansion at Benson Hill.
Royal Blood is the sixth book (of nine books altogether) in the Vampire Kisses series. This book reprises the formula of the other books. Vampires arrive and Raven investigates. There is something a bit anticlimactic about every ending. However, I don't really mind. By now, I know what to expect. I do not expect a bunch of action and explosions, and that is okay. I do expect that Raven will still contemplate the pros and cons of being a vampire. She'll keep telling Alexander to turn her, and then she'll think differently when she remembers about her life as a mortal.
Will Raven ever become a vampire? It seems like the only logical conclusion that Raven will end up as a vampire at the end of the series. After all, she has stated many (so many) times that she cannot live without Alexander, and he cannot live without her. It is doubtful that Alexander will become mortal.
And so, although I can guess what will happen three books from now, I am still excited to see where the series will go, the new characters who will pop up in Dullsville. Hopefully, there will be another trip to Hipsterville in the near future with a bit more of Aunt Libby.
If you liked the other books in the series, then you'll like this one.

This is where Raven is finally going to meet the awesome goth parents of her true live, Alexander. As soon as we meet the parents, you know that Raven is going to love them, they are totally goth and exactly what Raven wishes her parents were like. I loved the ending and how they try to find ways to keep Alexander In Dullsville, and i am sooooooooooo happy that Alexander finally showed off his talent for painting. (And he became rich from it! :)

I recommend this book for (Like i said Before) People who like the previous instalments to the vampire kisses series, The Vladimir Tod series, series where the main character is goth, Vampires, and YA Teen fantasy fiction.

Screiber deftly navigates Raven and Alexander’s maturing and taking charge. Her later books seem to fit readers who grow up alongside the characters.

This is definitely the best book in the series so far. I feel like there’s so much character development for all involved.

I adore the Sterlings; I definitely imagine Cassandra as Catherine Zeta Jones’ Morticia in Wednesday.

It felt like both Raven and Alexander grew up a little in this one. Good to see after Raven was so frustrating in The Coffin Club.
