Another magical day in Chance City. I absolutely LOVE this idea of our main characters’ imaginary friends being their own matchmakers. Yeah, that’s right; their childhood imaginary friends stuck with them until they’re adults and eventually helped their respective charges find true love. And the fact that said imaginary friends are also married to each other??? So cute. I know there are a lot of fantasy romances out there but it’s not always like how Dani McLean writes about them in her Movie Magic novella series. It’s not always heartwarming and a feel-good read. It’s like mini hallmark movies turned into novellas and are spicy and not cringe. I love it. Sad to see this series end. At least we got a mini update of the couples from the last four books in the epilogue. I love a good cameo.

I am so sad that this series is over but what an ending. Dani has written such a wonderful series full of beautiful, multifaceted characters, unique plots with magical elements and she's managed to squeeze it all into novellas. She's a magician.

Sophie is protective of herself after being hurt in the past. As I said to Dani this may be seen as a grumpy/ sunshine but Sophie is more sunshine protecting herself behind some rain clouds and I love that she is able to open up to being her most authentic bright self by allowing herself to be loved by Mitch. Mitch is such a glorious ray of light and I adored his patience with Sophie, knowing that she wants more but refusing to rush or pressure her. Just a perfect pairing.
Dani then gifted us THE BEST epilogue featuring all our favourites from the series and hints at how they’re doing – so much attraction to each other! It was WONDERFUL!!

I started this series when It has to be you was released earlier this year and god damn I never looked back! I have enjoyed reading these Novellas and I would say that The Forces of Love is by far the SPICIEST out of everything in the series. Mitch is probably top 2 book boyfriend at this point, just behind Ethan of course.

Anyway I digress.. Let me tell you about the story of Mitch & Sophie <3

Sophie doesn't trust anyone since her dad & Meg. She is quite happy to work on her own and not make any friends, she already had the best one anyway. Who can replace Levi, Sophie's imaginary friend that has been with her since she was a child.

Mitch is a smart guy, can eff up at times but he knows his stuff. He looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll. Mitch knows that with Eva's guidance, his imaginary friend, he will be okay.

Things I like:
> I love that Mitch doesn't roll over and knows when to bite back whenever Sophie becomes too bitchy
> Just like the rest of the titles in the series you can finish this in less than 24 hours bestie! I love that it always delivers as a palette cleanser for me in between Fantasies
> I love the spice ugh the spice! The spice is there, it's not as descriptive but you will know it bestie..
> this closes the series perfectly!

Things I have feelings on:
> The cameo on the tercentennial event, I get that it was relevant to show that Mitch was open to being attracted to other genders just like Sophie but the level of interest that was shown on the epilogue felt pushed? If it was something that we wanted to established I think we could have included it anywhere else other than the epilogue. That is all <3

This was the perfect ending to a perfect series! All five of these books makes me so HAPPY. I’m honestly devastated that this is the end, Chance is a special place! As always my recency bias is showing and I think I love Sophie and Mitch the most??

Sophie and Mitch have my HEART. The workplace romance, the forced proximity, the meddling imaginary friends, the similar childhoods which makes it so easy for them to understand each other even though they process things a little differently. The one time to get out of our systems but we’ll just keep going but it’s NOT a relationship because Sophie doesn’t do that but all of a sudden it’s very much a relationship because Mitch is totally GONE for her and let’s be honest so is Sophie she can just hide it a TINY BIT better.

They were SO SOFT. I loved how easy it for them to just be. Even though it was the opposite of everything Sophie SAID she wanted, she did in fact deep down just want someone to stay. And time and time again all Mitch did was prove was that he wasn’t going anywhere and it was PERFECT.

The ending was amazing. I LOVED seeing everyone together! I loved that Sophie gravitated towards Harrison and Hayley, and Mitch found literally everyone else. It made PERFECT sense. I cannot wait to get my hands on the physical copy so I can see them all together.

Thank you SO MUCH to Dani McLean for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! It has been such a freaking dream being able to read all these books! I cannot wait for whatever comes next!

Holy crap this novella was so good and such a lovely wrap up to the series! I need to sit with my thoughts and then I'll post a full review later this month, but I LOVED IT! I also loved being able to send Dani every random thought and reaction as I read it--thank you for the ARC!

Reread: Yep, I love this story too (literally do not make me pick a fave from this series, I can't do it)! Mitch is the perfect level of goofy confident nerd, Sophie is the sexy and secretly not the ice queen she portrays herself as. I love that this was MULTIPLE, that's right now dual but multiple POVs since we got their imaginary friends' sides of things as they were plotting. Plus, though I wish we could have more of all five couples interacting, the little epilogue that wraps up the series is great.
