L♡VED IT! PUHHHPUHHHPLEEEAASSSE do at least one more book. JUST to wrap it up. I dont care if its cut short. Just some closure. I'm starting the second book now and I know how this is gonna end for me... an unfinished cliffhanger!

Took me a while to read this...

To be honest I liked the concept of the book but I kinda wanted to hit ember on the head sometimes... Well most of the time.

The ending was a nice cliff hanger set up for the next book. Not sure if I'd want to read it, but all in all not bad for a free book.

Solid three stars. The book was average with okay characters and an okay plot. It was nothing great based on my preferences and I found myself not being invested with Ember and Caden’s romance. I did not root for them in any way and even disliked the first few parts where Caden would remove Ember’s blankets to wake her up, knowing fully well that she was naked underneath. That was just creepy behavior.

Furthermore, Caden’s backstory was not fully fleshed out yet. For example,

“I should’ve been worried about myself, but the only thing I could think about was that Caden’s deepest fear had come true. I’d abandon him, just as his family had.”

This was supposed to be an emotional moment. Unfortunately, I did not feel anything because there were no moments to show Caden’s feelings about being left by his family. If there were any, it would be brushed off because the next scene would be smut. I could not take the smut seriously.

Also, after Ember was taken by the government, she rarely mentioned her family and friends. Did she quickly move on? I have no idea.

The Vanishing Girl by Laura Thalassa is a new adult science fiction/fantasy book. It feels more like a romance/science fiction book to me. I really enjoyed this unique story. Ember Elizabeth Pierce can teleport . . . for about ten minutes every twenty-four hours. It started when she was about thirteen. Ember has just turned eighteen and her little trips have started to change. Then Mr. Dane Richards and his men show up at her home and state they are taking her away. Ember is taken to a high security facility where she is taught how to fight, fire a gun, and etiquette with her “pair” Caden Hawthorne. Please read The Vanishing Girl to find out about Ember’s missions, Adrian Sumner, and splicing (if I write more I am bound to write spoilers). I do not want to warn you that the book ends with a cliff hanger, and you will have to wait until the next book to find out what happens. I hope the sequel will come out very soon! Happy Reading!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

First of all
This relationship is not cute nor adorable it's disgusting, there's no way people actually falls for a pervert and a creep like him just because he was handsome and some what sexy?
What makes me even more sick is that Ember isn't fazed at all by his creepy behaviour and only sees how sexy he looks?
This book has potential, the story was interesting that i wanted to ignore all the cringe moments and keep going but this love is too disturbing for me Byyyye.

I really enjoyed this. The pace and story were great. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

I adored this book, so much. SO MUCH. Way more than I expected. The concept is exciting, the characters fun, the action solid, and the romance steamy.

This book quickly won me over with its charming writing and fantastic lead character, Ember. She is fiery, fun, and a girl with a huge heart. At her side, Caden is charming, flirty, and powerful. Their interactions helped sell me on this story, which was already packed with adventure and thrills. I enjoyed the world and the conspiracy within it.

An absolutely awesome thriller for anyone looking for an engaging romance with a thrilling plot packed with secrets and twists. I loved it!

Normally I love Laura Thalassa's books, but I just couldn't get into this and the sequel. It's just so detached from reality and not in a good way. There are just many scenarios that are so completely off the wall that it's frustrating, and there is an overall lack of consistency in this book (and the sequel).

Also, if you know anything about science this book is a giant facepalm. Really disappointing.
