It was a little hard to get into at first, just because there was no context as to what was going on. BUT! It got better.

very simple storyline, but with adorable characters and charming settings. it's all very colorful, but it's subdued enough that it's not overwhelming - it's great eye candy with feel-good vibes.

Full of a gentle cuteness.

Reggie and Emily are not immediate friends. Reggie is hurting from an overwhelming and scary adventuring experience; Emily is outgoing, curious, and exuberant. But the two get to know each other and get along, help each other through some rough patches, and Reggie learns to speak up express his feelings.

Recommended for fans of Studio Ghibli.

Grumpy, introverted Reggie has returned home after adventuring. He is happy to spend his time alone, but his neighbor Emily (who is cheerful and exuberant) convinces him to step out of his comfort zone. Together, they spend the summer overcoming their fears, making new friends, and planning a marvelous beach party.

A very charming and gentle graphic novel that is good for a wide range of readers (grades 2-6).
